Hanevild is a Danish brand, with its heart deeply buried in the charm of Scandinavian nature.
We are inspired by the animals that live freely in the forest or on the farm, the surroundings we move in and every little sprout that shoots up from the ground, all of which gives life and personality to our designs and identifies our brand.
We love our history and our name has a very special meaning. Hanevild is a word that does not exist in the Danish dictionary, but most people can guess what it means.
The name means 'crazy with roosters' and arose as part of the development of the youngest member of the Hanevild family's vocabulary. Little Ingrid had spent the first 3 years of her life in and out of various hospitals and in this regard she was far behind in physical and cognitive development. One summer day we decide that we are going to have a pet and the choice falls on chickens. We build a house and a cage, do various purchases and prepare the children for their arrival. The day dawned, the chickens arrived and the happiness was not to be overlooked. Ingrid, who at the time still had the ability to formulate more than two coherent words at a time, spent the whole day in the chicken coop, observing, smiling and completely happy. When the evening was drawing to a close and we finally managed to get the children to understand that the chickens should sleep alone on their perch and not in the bed, Ingrid said her first full sentence: 'Mom, mom, my stomach hurts, I'm so crazy about roosters' and right there, our name arose. A name that, for us, carries a huge history, carries the sign of recovery and carries pure happiness over children and all their quirks.
Hanevild was founded in 2022 and arose from a deep-seated desire to create clothing that had a solid quality and could be passed down between siblings, but at the same time it had to be beautiful to look at for both children and adults. It had to leave as little footprint on the earth as possible and all possible measures to secure our children's future had to be implemented, from start of production to end of disposal. Some examples are that, 85% of our products are organic, 98% are made from natural materials, our packaging is compostable and all shipping materials are recycled.
We always strive to deliver the best of the best, we take pride in craftsmanship, love embroidery, especially those made by hand, and we have a huge passion for knitwear.
